If I change the default font in Options then go to Edit View (Gedcom mode) the only thing that seems to be affected is the font used to display source information for events.
For example, if I click the DATE and PLAC tags of an OCCU event, the same font used in the upper part of the screen is used to display the information in the lower area but if I click on that event's SOUR tag the font I selected in 'Options' is used.
Seems a bit weird!
Lastest build on XP, same behaviour whichever 'look and feel' is selected. |

Hi Paul
that's correct - the font is only used when "rendering" the gedcom information (basically EntityView, TreeView, inside cells in TableView).
The little tree in EditView and elements at the bottom are going through a different pipeline (the look and feel) and don't follow that convention. that's basically meant as a form vs a canvas we paint on.
It has been commented on before - not sure if/when I can change that though.
Cheers

Hi Nils
It's not the difference between the top and bottom sections per se, it's the difference between the bottom for one tag (SOUR) and the bottom for another (e.g. FORE).
Best regards

Hi Paul
the difference is probably in whether you can edit it or not. SOURces are normally references to other records - so a selection at the top will render the 'target' at the bottom. That's indeed done as per default blueprint ...as in the EntityView basically.
All other props are shown to edit (don't know what FORE would be though) - basically the standard editing component on the respective platform.
well, this has been remarked on before so yes, something about using fonts leaves stuff to be desired. Not sure how to resolve this though.
Thanks

Hi Nils
OK thanks. And sorry I meant GIVN not FORE (that's a field name in another non-genealogy app I use!)
