Christening tag

Can support for the <CHR> christening tag be added? It's handled correctly if it exists in a file but users can't create a new tag of that type (and indi's could have <chr> and <bapt> data).

Cheers

Hi Paul

we decided at some point to hide CHR from the users choices - afaicr there's the interpretation conflict between CHRristening and BAPtisM.

what's your story for wanting both?

Hi Nils

Personally I don't mind changing all my CHR's to BAPT's - I have very few and they're not that important. Here's the deal though...

A person is usually christened into the Christian faith i.e. named, soon after birth and the event is often combined with a baptism but baptism can take place at anytime thereafter, even into adulthood. I know that the two events will be distinct and important for some users.

Cheers

Paul.

Any thoughts on this Nils before I hit the ok button on search and replace? :D I'd prefer to keep the CHR tags if poss.

Cheers

Guess I'm late to this now, tried to post earlier from my iPod but it didn't work for some reason.

Just wanted to say that in my part of the world, Baptism is not at all the same a Christening. Most if not all Baptisms take place in adulthood, or at least no younger than teenage years.
