Possible new user

Postby Tikiman » Thu Nov 05, 2015 15:52:54

I have been looking for a family tree program since converting to Linux Mint 17-1 (Cinnamon). I still have my old PC running Windows XP in storage and can be accessed as required for the relevant info that I had already recorded on the family tree program that I used in windows.
What I would like to know is it compatible with Linux Mint 17-1 (Cinnamon) run on a Dell Inspiron 531 with the following data :-
CPU~Dual core AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ (-MCP-) clocked at 1000.000 Mhz Kernel~3.13.0-24-generic x86_64 Up~35 min Mem~519.4/2000.9MB HDD~320.1GB(4.1% used) Procs~160 Client~Shell inxi~1.8.4.
Since I am very much a newbie to Linux and not familiar with the downloading method of installation into Linux from the internet could anyone advise me on this and please bear in mind it would have to be IDIOT PROOF INSTRUCTIONS.
Thank you for any info that you could provide me with
